SideMission — Privacy Policy

App data we collect
SideMission does not operate an account, profile, mission, photo, journal, location, advertising, or behavioral analytics backend. The app does not send your quiz answers, mission history, proof photos, journal entries, streak, or raw coordinates to a SideMission server.
Data stored on your device
Your quiz answers (mission profile), active mission state, journal entries, proof photos, streak, and any location-proof city or region label are stored locally on your device only. You can erase everything at any time from Settings → Erase all data, or by deleting the app.
Camera
The camera is used only when you choose to capture a proof photo for a mission you completed. Photos are saved locally into your journal and are shared only when you explicitly use the share button.
Location
Some missions offer a location-based proof. When you use it, the app performs a one-time, on-device presence check. It may also turn that one-time check into a city- or region-level label for your proof card and journal. Your coordinates are never stored and never leave your device. The yes/no "verified" flag and optional city or region label stay on your device.
Subscriptions
SideMission+ is billed through your Apple ID via the App Store and verified with RevenueCat so the app can unlock active subscriptions and restore purchases. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives the purchase and receipt information needed to verify SideMission+ status. Apple's handling of App Store data is described in Apple's own privacy policy. You can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in your App Store account settings.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist on trysidemission.com, we collect the email address you submit. The form is sent through our email provider, Resend, and may also copy the SideMission owner inbox for follow-up. We use that email only for SideMission launch and product updates. After you click the confirmation link we email you, your address is retained as a contact in Resend (a US-based email processor) until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. You can ask us to delete it or stop emailing you at support@trysidemission.com.
Website advertising measurement
On trysidemission.com, the Meta Pixel and matching server-side
Conversions API events load or send only after you explicitly choose
“OK” in the consent banner. If you consent, Meta may receive that you
viewed the page or clicked an App Store button, along with your IP
address, browser user agent, and Meta cookie identifiers such as
_fbp and _fbc when they are available.
Declining changes nothing about how the website works, and the site will not send these events to Meta. App Store links may still include cookie-less Apple campaign tokens used for aggregate campaign measurement. Your choice expires after no more than six months. You can revisit or withdraw it at any time using the “Measurement choices” link in the website footer. Withdrawing prevents future Pixel and Conversions API events; it does not affect the rest of the website.
The SideMission iOS app itself contains no trackers, advertising pixels, or advertising SDKs. Website campaign measurement never changes that boundary.
Children
SideMission is not directed at children under 13. The app does not collect mission content from anyone, and the website waitlist is not intended for children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
